The New York Knicks need OG. Anunoby

The New York Knicks have made it their goal to acquire O.G. for a while. Anunoby was traded to the Toronto Raptors and they were finally able to pull the trigger last December.

Anunoby was a difference-maker for the Knicks last season, and he got even better after signing a long-term deal that will keep him in New York for five years.

“He’s long, fast and strong. No one will support him in the barbell. He won’t be able to knock it down while dribbling. He can’t be screened from the ball if he doesn’t want to switch,” writes The Ringer’s Michael Pina. . “Anunoby can be a little stiff with the ball in his hands, but that flaw isn’t a concern next to Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges and Karl-Anthony Towns. two-thirds of the last four seasons, few role players are bigger stars in the space they occupy.”

Anunoby is the head of the Knicks’ snake on the defensive side of the floor, and that could be extremely beneficial for a team that has several offensive stars.

While the Knicks have struggled defensively this season, Anunoby has been one of the bright spots for the team. As the Knicks try to figure out how to stop the ball better, Anunoby needs to lead the charge.

For the Knicks to play defense correctly, Anunoby must play at his level of all-around defense. If he doesn’t, the Knicks may not have gotten as far as they thought and they may have to go back to the drawing board.

The Knicks play again tomorrow against the Charlotte Hornets. Tipoff is set for 12:00 pm ET.
